Why I love living in San Diego (in no particular order)

(1) The weather here is always awesome (it rarely rains and it's rarely cloudy)
(2) I can wear open-toed shoes and flip-flops all year round
(3) Our beautiful house and the wonderful landscaping my hubby designed
(4) I never, never ever never ever, have to shovel snow, or scrape frost off my car
(5) Alberto's - and any other Mexican restaurant that end's with "erto's"
(6) Carne Asada Burritos are available 24/7 (see #5)
(7) You can find lumpia in the frozen section of almost any grocery store
(8) It's only a 5 hour flight to Hawaii
(9) Vegas is less than an hour's flight away
(10) There aren't ridiculously long waiting lists to eat at the restaurants here
(11) The plethora of Filipino markets and restaurants (and the huge Filipino community)
(12) Not that we go often, but there are tons of beaches to choose from
(13) The many more hiking trails we have yet to explore
(14) Seaport Village - I love taking our out-of-town guests there
(15) Aloha shirts are the norm here, so the hubby fits right in
(16) We can sleep with our bedroom window open at least 50 weeks a year
(17) In-N-Out burgers & fresh cut fries
(18) Fish tacos (oooh - Wahoo's and Rubio's) and fresh fish in general (ahhh - Vera Cruz Fish House and the Chart House)
(19) The laid-back attitude and atmosphere
(20) Of course, all the wonderful friends and family that we have out here
(21) Not having to switch out the clothes in my closet for the different seasons
(22) Seeing the ocean along the 5
(23) Not having to deal with crazy humidity or the "wind chill factor"
(24) The occassional celebrity spotting
(25) It's been our home for the last 9 years and we can't imagine living any where else

Okay.. *cracks knuckles* Here we go...

(1) Very true. I think during my stay there, it only rained twice. The first time was when I was working at Target (pronounced Tar-Je) & I remember a co-worker telling me that someone just ran into a light pole because of the rain. I remember looking up & wondering, "Rain!? It's only sprinkling! This is nothing compared to Florida's rainy season." haha
(2) Flip-flops are probably THE best invention for feet EVER. Okay, I take that back: foot massagers. But it's definitely a close second!
(3) I have yet to see this beautiful house + landscaping done by Uncle Robert, but I definitely have to soon. Who mows the lawn? Uncle Robert? haha
(4) I guess living in Chicago would make one NOT miss shoveling snow. I remember wanting to help shovel the snow off the driveway so bad because I never did it before. Never again. It definitely was NOT fun. lol
(5) I miss the late-night Mexican food there in Cali. We used to occupy the Mexian place next to Target all the time. :(
(6) See #5
(7) I'm sure my mom would love that. We can only go to Filipino markets to find Lumpa in the frozen section. :(
(8) & only a 16 hour flight to the PI as opposed to Florida's 19. Boo!
(9) Still haven't been to Vegas. I think I'd be too scared. Walk in with money in my pockets & walk back out with IOU's.
(10) The fact that you have pretty much every type of restaurant there is what amazes ME.
(11) Where else would you find a statue of Jose Rizal in front of a supermarket??
(12) California pretty much OWN'S the Pacific.
(13) I'll skip out on that one. haha Jk. I need to walk more. Maybe tomorrow.
(14) Take me there Auntie!
(15) I LOL'd at that one.
(16) Unless you live in National City. I wouldn't recommend that if that were the case. lol
(17) I LOVE In-n-Out!!
(18) Fish Tacos!?
(19) :)
(20) Minus me, of course. :(
(21) Who needs a winter jacket when you can pretty much enjoy the warm weather all year round?
(22) I don't know what that means, but it sounds awesome. :)
(23) Florida = Crazy Humidity
(24) I remember taking a picture of Leonardo diCaprio's trashcan & Courntey Cox's door! Does that count?
(25) I want to live there someday!

Phew!

Hey Rizza-

What!? You never had fish tacos at Rubio's when you were here? I swore I took you - okay, when you visit this summer we'll take you :)

As for Seaport Village - duh - you've been there - we took you with your sisters, remember? We took tons of pictures with your Lolo and Lola, and even took the Seal Tour, the one where Jennifer and I got seasick? The cool tour where we were on land, then in the water, 'member? You 'member!?

Miss you and can't wait to see you soon!

I can't wait to see you guys soon too! 5 more months & counting. :)
